In a continued effort to serve the community Holly Mahler has stepped up to help her Pastor, Warren Beemer. Pastor Beemer, on Mayor Ivy Taylor’s Pastoral Team, has decided to help flood victims. They will be driving an 18 wheeler to Baton Rouge, Monday August 29th. They are collecting cleaning supplies, toiletries and cases of water to take directly to residents affected by the recent flooding. In some cases there are no mass clean-up efforts – just good Samaritans rolling up their sleeves to help their neighbors.
On Thursday Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTOR Stone Oak Sale Agent, with short notice, pulled together as much as they could. Matthew Molphus, a church member and volunteer for the second team, came and received the items (pictured below). Those relief supplied will be on their way Monday but it won’t stop there. The first team who traveled to Louisiana are back today, exhaustedly thanking everyone for the support.

Louisiana Flood Relief:
The Baton Rouge Area Foundation is providing assistance across South Louisiana where it can. Our history shows we get money quickly to where it’s needed the most. We have several ways you can help people. One is the Louisiana Relief Fund. The other are employee assistance funds, where employers can assist their own employees and receive tax deductions for contributions.
The Foundation is also working with nonprofits that are responding to the flood and with sheltering organizations.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO DONATE TO ASSIST A CO-WORKER THROUGH OUR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE FUNDS, VISIT EMPLOYEES1st.org and CLICK ON COMPANIES.
The rains have stopped but relief needs to continue:
