Tuesday August 4th — Kerrville Board of Realtors Social Committee hosted a ‘Hot August Nights Social Event. Chairman of the the Social Committee is Wendy Holt of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper Realtors in Kerrville who was in attendance and is pictured left in the white. Also from the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTOR® family in Kerrville is Linda Stillwell a member of the committee as well. Among the festivities included a food drive held for the Hill Country Veteran’s Center in Kerrville. Director, Alan Hill, is pictured above in blue with some of the donations that were collected. The facility opened back in January after overcoming many obstacles regarding building renovations but their food bank opened in March 2014 according to Hill. In addition to limited amounts of clothing and toiletries, they have a commercial and regular size storage freezer for donations. Nonperishable, boxed and canned food items are stored with shelving and are replenished through donation events such as the one that was held on Tuesday. A Pie Contest was also held with 10 competing pies. A monetary voting system allowed votes to be tallied for each of the contestant pets. The pie that raised the most money won the contest. After the winner was announced the funds collected were all donated to the Hill Country Veteran’s Center in total over $150.00 was raised.
