Any Baby Can’s 23rd Annual Style Show & Luncheon

September 14th, 2017 — Our friends at Any Baby Can hosted their 23rd Annual Style Show & Luncheon at The Pearl Stable. The spirit of this event is fashion, philanthropy, and friends — style that goes the extra mile. Proceeds from this fabulous celebration enable Any Baby Can to continue providing services, at no cost regardless of income, to families of children and youth with special health care needs. By providing crisis assistance, counseling, autism services, sibling support, prescription assistance and health and wellness services they move families from crisis to care.

D’Ann Harper, former board chair, personally values the work Any Baby Can provides to the community. D’Ann served on the Board of Directors for Any Baby can since 2009, and served as Board Chair from 2013-2015. She was in attendance alongside Sales Agents from the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® brokerage. Money raised from this event and others like it that hosted throughout the year, such as Fore Any Baby Can, fund many of the programs offered.

CWJC Provides to Women in Kendall County

12670488_10154180300206614_4102375344100948896_nTuesday, September 27th — Led by Christian Woman Job Corps Program Director, Debbie McCormick, her beginnings at this wonderful organization changed her life. First as a participant and then as an office administrator for both the men’s and women’s programs. CWJC was a life altering experience for and her desire to give back so that other women may benefit.

Open to woman 18 and over this free program provides job and life skills training. It prepares applicants for the workforce, life’s challenges and builds character that employers are looking for. Funding for this program, that improves the lives of so many, is raised in part through the Annual Christian Women’s Job Corps of Kendall County 2016 Style Show. Located at the beautiful Resort at Tapatio Springs, this year’s style show aimed to encourage women on the road to success. Attendees, including D’Ann Harper, Amy Thibodeaux, Lisa Stanley, Debbie McNeal, Christy Green, Bizzy Darling, Janetter Springer, Valerie Noia and Anna Rukavina, listened to graduates stories as they walked the runway.

22nd Annual Any Baby Can Style Show, D’Ann Harper accepts 2016 Wonder of the Child Award

The funds raised during this event will make a world of difference in the lives of children and youths with special needs. The spirit of Any Baby Can’s Annual Style Show and Luncheon is fashion, philanthropy and friends – supporting families never goes out of style.

Leslie Bohl a great friend to and supporter of Any Baby Can was Mistress of Ceremonies. Some of the guests shared stories and experiences in the journey of family. Genesis Argueta, 15, gave a beautiful testimony about her journey with Any Baby Can and they assisted her and her family with various resources and support. Bexar County District Attorney, Nico LaHood also shared his experience as a parent with a child with special needs.

It is with much honor that we looked on as former Board Chair, D’Ann Harper was awarded with the 2016 Wonder of the Child Award for her years of service and dedication to Any Baby Can during this year’s opening ceremonies.


D’Ann served on the Board of Directors for Any Baby can since 2009, and serve as Board Chair from 2013-2015. She has helped lead Any Baby Can through expansion of service provisions and an understanding that there is a great need in the community for service. Any Baby Can serves families who have children, birth through 17 years of age, with special health needs, chronic illness and/or developmental disabilities residing in Bexar and the surrounding 18 counties. Service consist of case management, counseling, Autism education, sibling support, health and wellness, prescription assistance and funeral assistance. Services are free of charge regardless of income. Any Baby Can depends on a vast community of committed friends and volunteers, like D’Ann, to serve over 9,700 individuals each year.
