Dianna Rhodes Appointed Senior Vice President of Residential Sales

09/25/2017 – Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® (CBHarper) announced that Dianna Rhodes has been appointed Senior Vice President of Residential Sales.  Dianna brings a wealth of residential real estate sales, management, and coaching experience.  She first began her

extensive professional career as a Contract Negotiator in Facilities and Records Management with Shell Oil.  She transitioned to the real estate industry with Coldwell Banker Pennington-Chen in 1996 and quickly became one of the company’s top producers by her second year.  That success led to a broader role where she mentored new Sales Agents through a custom, six-week training course she designed.  Ultimately, she was promoted to Sales Manager of her office, routinely achieving the Premier Office designation with Coldwell Banker.
Dianna also served as Sales Manager for Perry Homes in the Houston market, closing over $22M in a three-year period while receiving numerous awards.  Most recently, Dianna directed the education and training divisions of Stewart Title in San Antonio and routinely coached Sales

Agents on growing their business.  She earned a BS in Finance from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and boasts over 21 years of residential real estate experience.

CBHarper is thrilled to have her joining the Senior Management Team and leading the efforts to grow CBHarper’s residential sales business.

“Her passion as a mentor, educator, speaker, trainer, and leader clearly reflect how fortunate we are to be adding such a strong professional to our organization.” Says Leesa Harper Rispoli, President of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS®.

CBHarper Hurricane Harvey Relief & Adopt-a-Pet, The Long Road Home

Coldwell Banker and Adopt-a-Pet.com renewed their partnership in 2017. Last year the goal was to find homes for 20,000 pets, a goal that was exceeded thanks to Coldwell Banker offices nation-wide.

At Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® we had planned to join our ‘GenBlue’ family across the country by hosting several events here locally. Our office locations span 9 locations in 7 cities in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. We had teamed up with local shelters, gathered resources and promoted the National Adopt-a-Pet weekend.

What none of us could have planned for was the storm on the horizon. Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the evening of August 25th near Rockport, Texas. Home to many of our Sales Agents, family, friends and sister brokerage the Ron Brown Company. The category 4 hurricane sent wind gusts upwards of 100mph through the Texas Coastal Bend. This area is comprised of numerous small towns.

We watched helplessly as the torrential rains moved along the 300 miles of Texas coastline to Houston and farther north to Beaumont. This is not only a Texas story, the storm moved painfully slow over the course of a week bringing the flood waters into parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Without hesitation, Leesa Harper Rispoli rallied with the Sales Agents, employees and partners here to formulate a plan of action. In step with our parent company, Realogy, who pledged to match up to $75,000 for Red Cross Hurricane Harvey relief funds, we launched a fundraiser directly benefitting the American Red Cross. To-date this fundraiser has raised over $5,300.

Leesa put together this message:

Effectively immediately, on August 30th, we began collecting donations. We then planned for a Big Donation Event on Sept. 7th, just ahead of our Adopt-A-Pet event on Sept. 9th. We communicated directly with our fellow Coldwell Banker family members who sustained severe damage. We continue to encourage and support their respective fundraisers found here:
HelpRockport.CBHarper.com
HelpPortA.CBHarper.com

Even in the midst of a gas shortage caused by panic here in San Antonio, our Big Donation Event, unfolded with grand success. Allen Pozzi and Richard Davies, in true Texas fashion, brought in their barbecue pit and served up brisket, sausage, and fajita tacos. Each taco sold for $2 with the proceeds earmarked for relief efforts. Over $1,387.44 was raised in monetary donations. Checks were delivered directly to the San Antonio Food Bank, a hub of distribution for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Physical donations came in by the truckload until our entire trailer was filled with new goods including cleaning supplies, food, and hygiene products. Some of our donations were even sent via Amazon from other locations across the country like ones we received from Heather Ostrom at Coldwell Banker Roseville and Rocklin. We worked with a church who organized and delivered all the items collected. They put them directly into the hands of those affected and setup a team of volunteers who are assisting in the rebuilding process.

CBHarper Donation Drive

With our donations delivered on Friday, we pushed forward together to promote our Adopt-a-Pet event. It was no longer about only adopting pets who needed a home. It became about relieving the shelters who were feeling the pressure as they received incoming pets displaced by the flooding.

Our very own Cat Lodge, REALTOR® appeared on SALiving with TV personality Shelly Miles to voice how adopting a dog can make all the difference. Already full shelters here in San Antonio were seeing a large influx of animals that had escaped the storm or lost their families. Seeing a need, our friends at Adopt-a-Pet.com announced the release of a unique peer-to-peer platform that helps displaced people find local citizens who can provide temporary foster homes for pets until they can be welcomed back home.

Saturday, September 9th our offices joined together with God’s Dogs, SARocks, San Antonio Pets Alive and Pet’s Barn to take part in the nation-wide Adopt-a-Pet weekend. In total, 28 dogs found new homes, which for us is a tremendous success!  Below are photos from our Adopt-a-Pet and they speak louder than any words we can share.

At the end of the day, we’re all Texans. What does it mean? It means we’re family, here to lift one another up. We rise only by lifting others. So if that means raising money, donating goods or hosting a pet adoption — count us in. If there is one thing we are passionate about here at Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® it is changing lives by affecting real change where we can. Texas is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. If this tragedy has taught us anything, it is that we are Texas Strong. Stay on this journey with us as we continue down the path to recovery post-Hurricane Harvey… and Hurricane Irma. It is a long road home for some but we will reach the destination, together.

Coldwell Banker Skills for Amazon Alexa

As we move toward fully embracing voice-enabled technology and fully functional smart homes, Coldwell Banker has kept a pulse on the latest trends. Now Coldwell Banker is turning up the volume with an Amazon Alexa Skill for agents, brokers, and client to get real estate news on-the-fly.

Thanks to Amazon, “Alexa” has become a household name. On June 6th, 2017 Amazon Alexa users were one step closer to finding the homes of their dreams thanks to a partnership with Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. By prompting Amazon’s voice assistant with,

“ Alexa, Ask Coldwell Banker for the Home of the Week,”

users will hear a one-minute description of a featured Coldwell Banker listing and be connected to their Coldwell Banker office.

On August 1st, 2017 Coldwell Banker unveiled its second Skill for Amazon Alexa — the Coldwell Banker Gen Blue News Skill. By prompting Alexa with,

“Alexa, open Gen Blue News”,

agents will hear the latest Coldwell Banker news and access additional resources through the Alexa app.

What is a Skill?
An Amazon Alexa Skill is an app for the voice-controlled Amazon Echo speakers.

How does it work? Once you enable the skill, just prompt Alexa with, “Alexa, open Gen Blue News.” In less than 90 seconds, Gen Blue News delivers best practices, industry insights and quick challenges to help you grow your business.

Why develop the Skill? Coldwell Banker surveyed its brokers and agents and found that 79 percent of respondents would be interested in a smart home speaker, like an Amazon Echo or Dot, that was equipped with real estate news and industry insights. Your wish is our command!

What can I expect from the Gen Blue News Skill? Episodes will feature quick tips and useful info to stay ahead in the market, challenges to act on immediately to drive business and agent success stories that offer an important dose of inspiration.

Who can I expect to hear from in the Gen Blue News Skill? You’ll hear the voices of brand leadership, industry insiders and the brokers and agents who make up the Coldwell Banker network. The first episode of the Skill features Brad Inman, founder, and owner of Inman News, the leading source for real estate industry news. This episode is all about how agents can suit up for change with the innovative technology available in the real estate business.

How can I try this out for myself? You can search for the Coldwell Banker Gen Blue News Skill in the Amazon Alexa smartphone app, or using your Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, you can ask Alexa, “Enable Coldwell Banker Gen Blue News.”

“We’ve heard from agents that they are interested in voice-enabled technology and smart home devices, so we wanted to make sure there was another Coldwell Banker Skill for Amazon Alexa available to help the community keep a pulse on the latest trends and breaking real estate headlines. We’re excited to work with Amazon again to create our second Alexa Skill and expand our tech offerings for agents.”

— David Marine, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC

They submitted their application along with a compelling reason why they would like to further their education. Then a non-biased panel reads all the entries and selects the winners.

“Thank you D’Ann and Leesa from the bottom of our hearts”, says Kendall and her mom, Holly Mahler, REALTOR®. [pictured left]

In a formal letter thanking both Leesa and D’Ann Kendall conveys an overwhelming sentiment of gratitude.

“I will be attending Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas in hopes of receiving my Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology within the next two years. Industrial Organizational Psychology is a field that many people don’t know much about, even though it has grown steadily into a high paying field of employment. Businesses across the globe have started to realize the monumental impact that psychology plays in their productivity and thus have begun employing I.O. Psychologists to come in and make changes to their organizational procedures. My plans are to one day be an I.O. consultant for companies who are looking to increase their productivity through examining employee training, leadership techniques, and job placement with regards to psychological research and analysis.

I am overjoyed to be receiving this Dr. Herbert E. Harper, Jr. Memorial Scholarship and I truly still can’t believe that I was selected as the recipient. Just a few weekends ago I found out that I had been accepted into Psi Chi, the International Honors Society of Psychology, because of my psychology research over achievement motivation, my 4.0 psychology GPA, as well as my overall 3.60 GPA which places me in the top 35% of the sophomore, junior, and senior students at ACU! Since applying for this scholarship I was also able to walk the stage on May 13th, 2017, and graduate with my bachelor’s of science from Abilene Christian University with Cum Laude honors. I promise you that this scholarship is in good hands and that I am going to make something wonderful out of myself.

I because of this scholarship I can now look joyfully into the future, without any fears of paying for graduate school. Thank you again for selecting me as the recipient of the Dr. Herbert E. Harper, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund and for supporting my dreams, it is an honor and a privilege.”

When the application process reopens for 2018 we will be sharing that news here on our blog and well as on all our social media channels. Let’s Rodeo Ball with CBHarper

A group of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Sales Agents enjoyed a night out courtesy of D’Ann Harper and Leesa Harper-Rispoli.

The Let’s Rodeo Ball is a major fundraising event for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Scholarship Fund. Set in an upscale country western style, this party features top entertainment, gourmet food and dancing.

This event certainly is fun for both rodeo fans and everyone from the Greater San Antonio area. The performing artists of the night were Gary Allan, Neal McCoy and Bret Mullins.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has grown to be one of the largest events, possible with the except of Fiesta, with as many as two million visitors each year.*  It is one of the top PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) rodeos in the nation.

The San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. was established with the mission “A volunteer organization that emphasizes agriculture and education to develop the youth of Texas”. The focus on educating the youth of Texas lead to integrating 4-H and FFA high school students and making educational commitments to support their interest in the agricultural and livestock industry. In 1984, the scholarship program began when fifteen, four-year scholarships totaling $90,000 to were awarded to students entering Texas colleges in the fall. Since then, the organization has committed more than $171.4 million to the youth of Texas through scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock auctions, youth western art auction, calf scramble program and show premiums.**
