Charlene Goree Earns Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Property Specialist Designation

San Antonio, TX, January 2018Charlene Goree, REALTOR®, CLHMS, GRI, SFR, RSPS of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® has earned the Coldwell Banker Global LuxurySM Property Specialist designation, according to Leesa Harper Rispoli, President of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS®. To date, only ten percent of the more than 88,000 sales associates affiliated with the Coldwell Banker® brand have been awarded this designation. “In addition to performance-based criteria on successfully selling luxury properties, Goree had to complete a prescribed certification course to earn the Luxury Property Specialist designation,” said Leesa Harper Rispoli.

 

Launched in early 2017, the Coldwell Banker Global LuxurySM program legacy traces its roots to Coldwell Banker Previews International® and the Previews® program, a leader in luxury real estate since 1933. The Coldwell Banker Global Luxury certification course creates a standardized education model to help the newest generation of luxury agents meet and exceed the expectations of high-net-worth clients. In order to participate in the course, participating agents must meet strict production guidelines — “Some of the most rigorous standards in the industry today.” says Craig Hogan, Vice President of Luxury at Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC. Certification renewal is also required every 24 months, to ensure Luxury Property Specialists are up to date on new technologies, programs, and best practices.

 

Goree has been affiliated with Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® since 2012. Charlene was born in Houston, Texas but now lives and works in the New Braunfels Texas Area. Her service to the community earned her the ‘Unsung Hero’ award presented by the City of New Braunfels in 2015. She spends her time working with numerous charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity and St. Jude’s Ranch.

Beckie Whittier & Julie Gezella Honored at FRAR Award Banquet

Tuesday, December 5th — the Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® (FRAR) held the 2018 Installation of Officers and Directors & 2017 Awards Banquet with proceeds benefiting the Comal Habitat for Humanity. In attendance were notable figures in the local real estate industry including, Scott Caballero, TAR’s Public Policy Chairman for 2017, RVP for Region 13, and a past SABOR Chairman, Candy Cargill, Region 7 RVP, Debbie Vallone-Homeier, TREPAC Trustee for Region 7, Justin Landon, Vice President of Government Affairs San Antonio Board of REALTORS® and Casey Lee, TAR Central Texas Field Representative.

Members of FRAR had the opportunity to nominate members from each of the five counties. Outgoing 2017 President, Monica Malorgio McNabb, presented the following awards to Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Beckie Whittier and Julie Gezella.

The Four Rivers Association Members voted a REALTOR® they felt demonstrated leadership, community service and all around good professional conduct to their industry. It was completely unexpected. Ruth Brymer was awarded the certification of GRI.

The GRI designation is a powerful tool to attract and build new business. This certification increases skill levels across the entire landscape of real estate with in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards, and the sales process. A minimum of 60 hours of coursework is required, and subjects covered generally include:

  • Market Knowledge: Neighborhoods and property amenities, considerations for housing types, developing CMAs and impact of MLS, financing option, and home-buying programs, inspections and appraisals/valuations
  • Business Skills: Prospecting, buyer and seller services, creating your niche market, negotiations, creating and implementing your brand
  • Systems and Tools: Record retention, form platforms, and applications, website portals, marketing tools, hardware and software to streamline your business
  • Avoiding Setbacks, Fines, and Lawsuits: Professional standards, contract to close, risk management, agency relationships, and advertising

CBHarper New Braunfels & Habitat for Humanity 2017

Each year the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels office works directly with the Comal County Habitat for Humanity to give back to the community by decorating and securing sponsorships for home-studs.
Martha and her family are ready for homeownership and need help to complete their dream. Their home is scheduled for Autumn of 2017. In order to frame a Comal County Habitat for Humanity home, they need over 300 studs ( 2 x 4 x 92-5/8″ wood).  You can partner with Martha and Habitat by sponsoring a stud for $200. With your sponsorship, you can take a stud home or to your organization and decorate it. Then return your decorated stud back to Comal Habitat by September 15th. Your decorated stud will be used to frame Martha’s Habitat home. 

*The studs will be available for pick-up at the Comal County Habitat for Humanity office at 1269 Industrial Drive, New Braunfels, Texas  9:00am – 4:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday before September 15th.

Meanwhile, the folks at Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper Realtors New Braunfels celebrate with great enthusiasm”Paint Your Stud Day”.  Our local Comal County Habitat for Humanity is getting ready for the NEXT home for us to help build. The donations for these studs will be able to purchase $1,400 of building supplies.

Memorial Day: A Story of Remembrance

This Memorial Day, the story of the remembrance table will become a bit better known. It is with great thanks to Bill L. Starr, an agent with Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS®, for his service to our country. He set up “The Fallen Man Table”. The tradition of setting a separate table in honor of our prisoners of war and missing comrades has been in place since the end of the Vietnam War. The manner is which this table is decorated is full of special symbols to help us remember our brothers and sisters in arms.

The white tablecloth draped over the table represents the purity of their response to our country’s call to arms.

The empty chair depicts an unknown face, representing no specific Airman, Marine, Sailor, or Soldier, but all who are not here with us.

The table itself is round to show that our concern for them is never-ending.

The black napkin stands for the emptiness these warriors have left in the hearts of their families and friends.

The single red rose to remind us of their families and loved ones.

The red ribbon represents the love of our country, which inspired them to answer the nation’s call.

The slices of lemon on the bread plate remind us of their bitter fate.

The salt upon the bread plate represents the tears of their families.

The wine glass turned upside down, reminds us that our distinguished comrades cannot be with us to drink a toast or join in the festivities of the evening.

We would like to wish you all an honorable Memorial Day. Join us in thanking those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Also, let us recognize the families and friends who have supported our servicemen and women as they defend our freedom and country. It is their memory we wish to hold dear.

Adopt-A-Pet, CBHarper & New Braunfels Humane Society Team Up

On Saturday, May 20th the office at Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper Realtors in New Braunfels, Texas teamed up with their local New Braunfels Humane Society for their  Adopt-a-Dog day. “ This is the second time we have done this with their organization, and it’s a wonderful feeling to help the local dogs that are often abandoned or surrendered,” says Julie Gezella, VP for the New Braunfels office.

The event was well promoted, with all the newest in Coldwell Banker “Somebody to Love” promotional materials. Not to mention the fabulous heart-tugging commercial that is now airing!

Raffle tickets for a customized dog house were selling for $5.00 each.  “Our friends at Coventry/Wilshire Homes graciously donated this amazing dog house for BOTH years we’ve done this. To have a miniature little house with all the decked out high-end building amenities was pretty awesome!” says Gezella.

There was an auction with dog related items, as well as a donation jar for money and drop off station for food and dog items to help the Humane Society.

Seven dogs were delivered to the New Braunfels parking Lot (the Humane Society had a great week prior, adopting out several dogs already!!), one went home that day, one needed to do paperwork on Monday, and one needed a home visit to the prospective adoptee’s ranch to see how “Sandy” handled the horses he had.

“Main thing is the awareness that often people don’t know about. ADOPT don’t SHOP.  I personally have adopted THREE dogs from the New Braunfels Humane Society,” Gezella states. “ Once Coldwell Banker rolled out their 2015-2016 Promotion and challenged us to promote the adoption of 20,000 dogs, I just knew I had to be part of that. “

Over $800 was raised through raffle tickets and auction items, all benefiting New Braunfels Humane Society.

 The Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designation is the premier credential in seller representation. It is designed to elevate professional standards and enhance personal performance. The designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) who meet specific educational and practical experience criteria.

According to the National Association of REALTORS®, the SRS Course will redefine your “normal” and reinvent the way you represent sellers.  It provides a comprehensive foundation of skill development, training and resources to help real estate professionals represent the interests of sellers in today’s marketplace.

Students learn to:

  • Increase listings and grow their business
  • Demonstrate and communicate their value package to seller clients
