2016 Annual Bear Hunt

The Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Annual Bear Hunt wrapped up for 2016 with a total of over 4,200 stuffed animals and teddy bears. Jené Rand, REALTOR® and coordinator for this annual event shared some heartwarming stats last week.

While we did not beat last year’s numbers, there are many children who benefited from this charitable cause. It all started at the company’s 2016 Chili Cook-Off. All attendees bring either a stuffed animal or $2 to contribute towards the upcoming years’ Annual Bear Hunt. In addition, there is a silent auction, games, prizes and of course, delicious chili to be tasted. The proceeds from the 2016 Chili Cook-Off totaled more than $6,000!

In the featured image, pictured are our Kerrville Sales Agents with their donation of over 100 stuffed animals going towards the Hill Country Community Needs Council. Cynthia Loving, Vice President of Residential Sales says, “If it wasn’t for faithful supporters wonderful causes like this wouldn’t exist. Thank you to all of those who helped make the difference in these children’s lives.”

With those funds 1,151 new stuffed bears were purchased. The majority of new stuffed animals go directly to the Children’s Hospital. Contributions go to a wide variety of organizations that include the following:
San Antonio Area: Boysville, Any Baby Can, Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald Houses, Youth Alternatives, Bexar County Child Protective Services, SAMM’s Shelter, Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas, Blue Santa’s, Forgotten Child, Medina Children’s Home, Kingdom Resources, Universal City Fire and Police Departments.
New Braunfels Area: Brown Santa in Hayes County, Be Nice Express, and Angel Ministries.
Fredericksburg Area: Hill Country Community Needs Council.
Boerne Area: The Kendall County Family Services, The Hill Country Daily Bread, Families Especial,  Kendall County Sheriff Department and Boerne Police ” Blue Santa’s”

Aside from donations, both monetary and plush, many staff members help organize and promote our Annual Bear Hunt. Thank you to all that helped count, bag and deliver the thousands of stuffed bears and other toy animals.

If you would like to contribute, we collect all year-round. The donations are stored at their respective offices until the following December when they’re delivered to brighten the holidays of children.

Cheers and Happy New Year!

Comal Habitat for Humanity Holiday Fundraiser 2016

15401036_10210812653809916_4029133205936043804_nThe Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels office hosted an open house fundraiser directly benefiting the Comal Habitat for Humanity. Julie Gezella, VP of Residential Sales for the New Braunfels office, along with the entire team of local Sales Agents helped support this annual cause in a big way. The theme for this years’ Holiday party was “This is Where Awesomeness Happens.”

Nearly a dozen doors were decorated by children from the Lone Star Elementary and iCento schools for this open house event (5 have been sold so far). In addition to a many silent auction items, these beautiful doors were auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to the Comal County Habitat for Humanity. It’s a win for the children as well, with the winning classrooms receiving cash to spend for supplies.

Homemade food, refreshments and conversation were thoroughly enjoyed while guests admired the artistic doors and auction items. A welcome visit from Santa surprised the children, and not just any Santa – THE Santa.

In this season and all seasons Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® is proud to support Habitat in building homes with deserving families in Comal County. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people from everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating homes so that there are decent houses in decent communities. Lending a hand up, not a hand out.

“We must view shelter as the foundation for improving access to nutrition, education, employment and health care. We must view it as a vehicle for lasting transformation for families and communities alike.”

Introducing Mockingbird Heights New Braunfels

What is a great neighborhood comprised of? Joshua Amezquita, REALTOR® posed this questions to several residents of the Mockingbird Heights subdivision in New Braunfels, Texas. He will hosting an open house at 656 Peacock Lane in New Braunfels and wanted to highlight the life in this beautiful subdivision.

Joshua, an experienced fireman, gained a unique perspective in connecting with people during his service as a first responder. He started a career in real estate to pursue his passion of helping others. Looking into the lives of local Texans, it is apparent that homes are so much more than 4 walls and a roof. It is a place for family and friends to gather and enjoy each others company. Based out of the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels Sales Office, Joshua is committed to matching families with the forever place to call home they deserve.

dsc_1586There is really no better place to move than New Braunfels according to the U.S. Census. In May 2016, data showed that New Braunfels was the second-fastest growing city in the U.S. from July 2014 – July 2015. While San Antonio was a close fourth, in population growth. While beloved Texas suburbs like New Braunfels see growth it has been for the positive, with increased job opportunities and locally owned businesses.

What does this mean for a neighborhood like Mockingbird Heights? Well if you reference some of the local statistics, it means a great nightlife, lots of restaurants, festivals and some of the best ranked schools in the area. Big Bets For Homeless Pets

In an extended commitment to find homes for dogs in 2016, Coldwell Banker will continue its successful “Homes for Dogs Project” in collaboration with Adopt-a-Pet.com. Last year as part of the Coldwell Banker family, we set out on our mission to make a difference for the millions of adoptable pets around the country in need of a loving home.

Most recently our Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels Office took part in a casino night at the McKenna Center. Themed “Big Bets for Homeless Pets” tickets, food, beverages and big prizes were offered as part of an amazing casino night. With proceeds going to Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, over 250 people came out and participated in the festivities.

We were very pleased to have sponsored this event. Thank you to Julie Gezella, her husband Ken, Kaycee Blanchard and all of the CBHarper New Braunfels Family for participating giving back to the community.

CBHarper New Braunfels Celebration

13428012_10209687823487862_1153746447909914556_nJune 2016 — Recently the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels Sales Office held a Beach Party Lunch. Organized by two Sales Agents, Jenny Vonfeldt and Barbara Morgan, this party was full of fantastic fun-themed frivolity!

While the Sales Agents out of the New Braunfels office work very hard, they play hard as well. They worked together at the Texas River Fest on June 11th to spread the word of “finding home” amongst patrons eager to float the river. Despite the turn-out, they braved the Texas heat at Rockin’ R River Rides to cheer on in the name of real estate. More than just handing out free CBHarper swag – live music and cold drinks were also enjoyed. On June 14th, honoring the nearly 100 new listings the team brought into the office, they continued the week by hosting a beach theme luncheon to celebrate such a wonderful accomplishment.
