Comal Habitat for Humanity Holiday Fundraiser 2016

15401036_10210812653809916_4029133205936043804_nThe Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® New Braunfels office hosted an open house fundraiser directly benefiting the Comal Habitat for Humanity. Julie Gezella, VP of Residential Sales for the New Braunfels office, along with the entire team of local Sales Agents helped support this annual cause in a big way. The theme for this years’ Holiday party was “This is Where Awesomeness Happens.”

Nearly a dozen doors were decorated by children from the Lone Star Elementary and iCento schools for this open house event (5 have been sold so far). In addition to a many silent auction items, these beautiful doors were auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to the Comal County Habitat for Humanity. It’s a win for the children as well, with the winning classrooms receiving cash to spend for supplies.

Homemade food, refreshments and conversation were thoroughly enjoyed while guests admired the artistic doors and auction items. A welcome visit from Santa surprised the children, and not just any Santa – THE Santa.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people from everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating homes so that there are decent houses in decent communities. Lending a hand up, not a hand out.

“We must view shelter as the foundation for improving access to nutrition, education, employment and health care. We must view it as a vehicle for lasting transformation for families and communities alike.”

– Jonathan Reckford, CEO, Habitat for Humanity International

2nd Annual Pictures with Santa at the CBHarper North West Office

The Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Northwest Office hosted their 2nd Annual Pictures with Santa event on Saturday, December 3rd. Our Sales Agents invited clients, friends and family to have their pictures taken with Santa at the Northwest Office rather than standing in line for hours at the mall.

The cost to participate was a stuffed animal or donation for our Bear Hunt. Those who attended enjoyed cookies, hot chocolate and lots of fun. Over 50 stuffed animals were collected for the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Annual Bear Hunt.

A special thank you to Keri Neff, our photographer who initiated this wonderful event, and Santa (a.k.a. Jorge Basabe).

1st Annual CB Harper NW Office Holiday Picture Event

IMG_2455December 2015 — Last weekend our Sales Agent Keri Neff from the Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Northwest Office volunteered to take pictures for agents, their family and clients. Keri, a professional photographer in her previous career, generously donated her skill and time; all she asked for in return was a donation to our Annual Bear Hunt. Keri along with James Lee, who graciously offered to play Santa, raised $200 to purchase new stuffed animals.

We asked Keri about her experience this past weekend and here is what she had to say,

I come from an arts background and I’ve been thinking how to use this to give back to people. I’ve been very affected by seeing pictures of memorials of recent tragedies  around the world. The thing I value the most are pictures of friends and family. When I used to work in a studio, I always made special efforts for people I knew couldn’t afford it because I knew they saved every penny for months just to get one picture of the family together, happy. Kids grow and we all lose loved ones. You can never have today back. Capturing these moments is a passion of mine.

So I offered my mobile photography studio and Saturday to the office. I asked agents to think of families who may not have time or means to go to a studio. It was donation based, all money raised for Bear Hunt. I didn’t have a big response with the RSVP but It turned out like the Stone Soup story where once the stones were boiling, everyone came out to share something: props, ideas, helping with kids and James Lee even donated his afternoon as Santa. I raised $200 for the Bear Hunt. It seems small but for me, thinking that every single effort on everyone’s part goes to making someone’s day better is truly priceless! And making memories for families made it worth my time. Now that agents know what it is about and have seen results the response is overwhelmingly supportive.

Thank you to everyone at the Northwest Office who participated in this wonderful event! Here is a glimpse of the festivities:

Santa Visits Boerne

UnknownDecember 5th — The First Give was hosted by Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Boerne Office. Every year we collect hundreds of stuffed animals from our community through clubs, schools, Scouts and personal donations to GIVE to our local children and charities in need.

This year we wanted to share the joy with children in Kendall County by inviting them to visit Santa at our Boerne Office. The kids enjoyed holiday treats and picked out their very own stuffed animals to love FIRST and then GIVE the remaining stuffed animals to the charities. We even had some that you can GIVE to your favorite family pet so they can share in the holiday spirit!

Santa arrived on the fire truck promptly at 12pm (complete with lights and sirens) and the children were waiting close-by in the inflated bouncy house. Aside from inflatable fun, the children also enjoyed hot cocoa, cookies and stuffed animals to love. Amy Thibodeaux, VP of Residential Sales for the Boerne Office snapped this quick video of Santa arriving and posted it to her community Facebook page here.
