Debbie McNeal, Working Hard To Get You Home

Debbie McNeal has lived in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country for over 50 years. She has spent over 30 years in management in the Finance & Credit Services Industry, which included mortgage loans, credit services, loan collections, and foreclosures. This experience and knowledge has helped assist clients with mortgage concerns and understanding the entire lending process. After years in the finance industry, Debbie moved on to sales and marketing in the Disaster Restoration business. Information gained during her time there cultivated skills in marketing properties so they will sell faster and bring the best possible price in the market.

Debbie loves being in real estate and helping people realize their dreams. Recently a letter was sent directly to D’Ann Harper, CEO, Broker / Owner, from a client who shared their experience:

I recently sold my house in SA after 39 years. It was tough emotionally for me but I had a real estate agent that was warm, caring and straightforward. She assured me to “look where you are going” not where you’ve been. Then she found the perfect house for me.

I just want you to know how grateful I will always be to your agent, Debbie McNeal. Debbie is friendly and professional. She is honest. I think she won me over with her work ethic, professionalism, and overall knowledge if the process. Anything I asked….. she had an answer or got me the answer.

Debbie bent over backwards to get both deals done. She kept me informed and she kept me calm. It is a huge change for me. I am so thankful I had Debbie who made it easy and fun!  Please know she really is a great agent. She knows her stuff. I love my new house and I love Debbie McNeal.

Thanks for a great experience with one of your agents.

N. Faldik, Ph. D

Thank you, for sharing this wonderful sentiment about Debbie McNeal, REALTOR®. It is no wonder that she has been named Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® Hero of the Year and Eagle of the Year multiple times. Both of these awards are peer-voted and based on overall performance, contribution to helping other agents and her time spent giving back to the community.

In response to this letter, D’Ann Harper says, “Thank you so much for writing such a beautiful letter about Debbie. Indeed Debbie is one of CBDHR’s shining stars. I am so pleased to have her as part of our real estate family but even more proud to call her one of my dear friends. Hope you enjoy your new home for many years to come and thank you again.”

When Debbie is not helping clients, she devotes much of her time to the community. Currently, she serves as the President of the Hill Country Optimist Club. Additionally, she is the organizer of donation drives that include “Cover Their Tush & Toes” Sock & Underwear Drive, “Easter Bunny Basket Brigade” to collect items for & assemble Easter Baskets for local children, an Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, and providing support to the Christian Women’s Job Corp by teaching or providing means during their training sessions.

When Debbie isn’t “knee-deep” in real estate, she enjoys traveling with friends and spending time with family, which includes her 2 miniature long hair dachshunds. Visit her on Facebook and don’t forget to like and follow her by clicking here:

How Do You Know? Real Estate Photography & You.

How Do You Know? Real Estate Photography & You.
Guest article by Diego Henriquez

“How do you know when you’re ready?” this question has been asked for generations – marriage, children, college, etc…
The answer always seems to be the same, “you just know.”

Unfortunately, this particular answer cannot be said of prepping your house for real-estate photography, as much as I’d like it too. So, how do you know? What is the fine balance between what feels like the destruction of your whole world and routine and to making sure your home is beautiful within and without? Is there a model or form you can follow? HOW DO YOU KNOW?

Before I divulge unto you information that will change the name of your game I think we need to establish the rules. Here, in the world of photography real estate and real estate in general, we like to think of ourselves as helpers.

What do you mean helpers?

Well, we aren’t here to make your house look ugly, or to highlight parts of the house that might be unbecoming to viewers, nor are we around to make sure your house doesn’t sell. Our number one focus, primary focus, the very fundamental part of our job is to ensure your house is sold in a way that respects you, for YOU.

So the ONLY rule, yes, I repeat, the ONLY rule there is, is to remember:
WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU make your house look its best, for you.

Some think we are invaders trying to occupy their livelihood and home, but we aren’t. We are guests. As such, wouldn’t you want your house to look its best?

Some think we don’t care about how the house looks or is maintained, but we do. In fact, we care a ridiculous amount, so much so, we consider you a part of our team and vice versa. #teamCBHarper.

As a team, we (on-staff professional Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® photographers) are going to do our utmost to ensure your house gets the best photos, the realtor will do their utmost to ensure the sale of your house, and you, as team leader, needs to, to the utmost of your ability ensure your house is ready – ready for the world to see how beautiful your home is, has been, and will continue to be.
(As soon as they buy it, am I right).

Okay, okay….enough with the chatter you say, tell me how do I know when I am ready.
Here, at Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, we’ve made it simple for you with our expert team of professional photographers, our undying canny marketing team, and our 24/7 on-the-clock IT department. We’ve made it so simple, that it boils down to a list. THE LIST. The list of all lists that will answer, “when am I ready.”
You can find this list by asking your Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTOR® or download it here.

You feel that power at your fingertips? I do.
However, if you’d like read on…it gets better. I promise.

After the list is done, then what? What’s your next move? Remember how I said it gets better? Here it comes….brace yourself…..Once you finish the list, you are done. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?! No way! How? Well, let’s use the analogy of an all American great sport, football.

When the quarterback throws the ball, is he done for that moment with his job? Why yes, for the moment, not the whole game. Okay now, who’s next in play? Well, whoever is receiving the ball, which in this particular case would be the photographer. Now it is His turn to do what is expected of him. And, well, you get my drift… I want to highlight something important. As the seller, the team leader, you have to continue to maintain the house, just as a quarterback would the play his best the whole game because this helps the realtor do their part. In this way, when we all work together, as exhausting as it may seem – and trust me I know it is exhausting – we can guarantee success, for you!

#teamYOU.

So, here’s the deal: let’s pinky promise each other that we will do what is required of us to make sure we make your home look its best for you, for me, for them and for those to be. After all, we are a team. The best team. Because we have you and you can now say confidently, I AM READY.

Love,
Your Photographer.

CBHarper Hurricane Harvey Relief & Adopt-a-Pet, The Long Road Home

Coldwell Banker and Adopt-a-Pet.com renewed their partnership in 2017. Last year the goal was to find homes for 20,000 pets, a goal that was exceeded thanks to Coldwell Banker offices nation-wide.

At Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® we had planned to join our ‘GenBlue’ family across the country by hosting several events here locally. Our office locations span 9 locations in 7 cities in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. We had teamed up with local shelters, gathered resources and promoted the National Adopt-a-Pet weekend.

What none of us could have planned for was the storm on the horizon. Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the evening of August 25th near Rockport, Texas. Home to many of our Sales Agents, family, friends and sister brokerage the Ron Brown Company. The category 4 hurricane sent wind gusts upwards of 100mph through the Texas Coastal Bend. This area is comprised of numerous small towns.

We watched helplessly as the torrential rains moved along the 300 miles of Texas coastline to Houston and farther north to Beaumont. This is not only a Texas story, the storm moved painfully slow over the course of a week bringing the flood waters into parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Without hesitation, Leesa Harper Rispoli rallied with the Sales Agents, employees and partners here to formulate a plan of action. In step with our parent company, Realogy, who pledged to match up to $75,000 for Red Cross Hurricane Harvey relief funds, we launched a fundraiser directly benefitting the American Red Cross. To-date this fundraiser has raised over $5,300.

Leesa put together this message:

Effectively immediately, on August 30th, we began collecting donations. We then planned for a Big Donation Event on Sept. 7th, just ahead of our Adopt-A-Pet event on Sept. 9th. We communicated directly with our fellow Coldwell Banker family members who sustained severe damage. We continue to encourage and support their respective fundraisers found here:
HelpRockport.CBHarper.com
HelpPortA.CBHarper.com

Even in the midst of a gas shortage caused by panic here in San Antonio, our Big Donation Event, unfolded with grand success. Allen Pozzi and Richard Davies, in true Texas fashion, brought in their barbecue pit and served up brisket, sausage, and fajita tacos. Each taco sold for $2 with the proceeds earmarked for relief efforts. Over $1,387.44 was raised in monetary donations. Checks were delivered directly to the San Antonio Food Bank, a hub of distribution for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Physical donations came in by the truckload until our entire trailer was filled with new goods including cleaning supplies, food, and hygiene products. Some of our donations were even sent via Amazon from other locations across the country like ones we received from Heather Ostrom at Coldwell Banker Roseville and Rocklin. We worked with a church who organized and delivered all the items collected. They put them directly into the hands of those affected and setup a team of volunteers who are assisting in the rebuilding process.

CBHarper Donation Drive

With our donations delivered on Friday, we pushed forward together to promote our Adopt-a-Pet event. It was no longer about only adopting pets who needed a home. It became about relieving the shelters who were feeling the pressure as they received incoming pets displaced by the flooding.

Our very own Cat Lodge, REALTOR® appeared on SALiving with TV personality Shelly Miles to voice how adopting a dog can make all the difference. Already full shelters here in San Antonio were seeing a large influx of animals that had escaped the storm or lost their families. Seeing a need, our friends at Adopt-a-Pet.com announced the release of a unique peer-to-peer platform that helps displaced people find local citizens who can provide temporary foster homes for pets until they can be welcomed back home.

Saturday, September 9th our offices joined together with God’s Dogs, SARocks, San Antonio Pets Alive and Pet’s Barn to take part in the nation-wide Adopt-a-Pet weekend. In total, 28 dogs found new homes, which for us is a tremendous success!  Below are photos from our Adopt-a-Pet and they speak louder than any words we can share.

At the end of the day, we’re all Texans. What does it mean? It means we’re family, here to lift one another up. We rise only by lifting others. So if that means raising money, donating goods or hosting a pet adoption — count us in. If there is one thing we are passionate about here at Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® it is changing lives by affecting real change where we can. Texas is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. If this tragedy has taught us anything, it is that we are Texas Strong. Stay on this journey with us as we continue down the path to recovery post-Hurricane Harvey… and Hurricane Irma. It is a long road home for some but we will reach the destination, together.

She proudly became an American citizen and truly understands, believes in the American Dream of homeownership. In addition, she has a great respect for the military servicemen and women. Licensed in 1978, Delia has extensive knowledge of the real estate industry. She has built long-term relationships with families, many of her clients come back again and again for their home buying or selling needs. She’s not just their REALTOR®, she is their friend.

D’Ann Harper, Broker / Owner of Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS® received a letter directly from one of Delia’s clients sharing their truly wonderful experience.

Dear Ms. Harper:

My husband and I had the good fortune to work with Delia Sutton, a realtor with your firm, for a small real estate purchase in San Antonio in the last month. All had to be done electronically because we are, in fact, on a working assignment in Japan. Ms. Sutton’s professionalism in handling both our time differences and some rather frustrating obstacles thrown our way by the bank despite our good credit was spectacular. She answered our concerns outside of normal business hours, provided information, reassurance, and guidance in the purchasing process down to the handing off of the keys. Without her steadfast support, I doubt that this would have resulted in the successful completion of the purchase. We are extremely grateful to her.

Frankly, I have never before encountered a professional like Ms. Sutton who is so clearly willing to go the extra mile even when the remunerative payoff is not that great. We hope to be making other real estate purchases in the coming years and will definitely be seeking Ms. Sutton’s services and referring others to her. If she represents the “norm” at Coldwell Bank, all the better for you and your clients.

Feel free to share this testimonial on any public media site and do give Ms. Sutton the praise and/or award she deserves for having made us such satisfied customers.

Best regards,

Jo Anne Bowman and Gary Ullrich

Well done Delia! If you are looking for an agent who will do her best to satisfy your real estate needs, please reach out to Delia Sutton, REALTOR®. She enjoys working with people and helping them with one of the most exciting and important major decision in their lives — buying or selling a home.
