By Fabi R. Gomes | July 8th, 2019

Willow City is a community located 12 miles northeast of Fredericksburg in Gillespie County. Willow City Loop is a popular 13-mile picturesque drive with rolling hills, blooming fields, and deep green vales that don’t cease to amaze road trippers and visitors.

With wide-open spaces and stunning landscapes, Willow City offers fresh country air filled with visual wonders, trails, and sounds of nature. Local wildlife, grazing cattle, and horses add to the sights to enjoy.

Well-known for the “Willow City Loop,” especially during bluebonnet season, the area is also a popular spot for camping, picnic, hiking, rock climb, stargazing, and bird watching. With a population of just 162 but relatively close to Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, and Stonewall, Willow City is also only 25 minutes away from the popular Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.
