Julie Faulkner Welcomed at ImpactSA – Making A Difference
Julie Faulkner has been an active member of the San Antonio community for over twenty years, and a lifelong Texan. Back in 2003, when Impact San Antonio was first being developed, a neighbor mentioned the concept to Julie. The mission of Impact San Antonio was and continues to encourage and empower women to join together to achieve meaningful change in the Greater San Antonio area. Julie was involved with the Junior League and was looking for another opportunity to volunteer.
She became a member in 2004 when there were just a few members. By 2005 they had made their grant to The Arc of San Antonio for $25,000. Julie stayed involved for the next few years, supported by the customizable schedule of Impact SA that allowed her to focus on her family. She is a devoted mother but also a keen businesswoman who spent almost thirty years in the building industry. So the involvement she enjoyed with Impact SA never strayed from her thoughts.
Reflecting on that time Julie says, “I never completely lost touch, and I did help out with some things, but my life was very busy during that time.”
Now a full-time REALTOR® as part of The Ross Group, a well-known, successful team Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS®, Julie is also a full-time member of Impact SA. She encourages all members to reach out to women they know and invite them to support or join Impact SA.
“This concept of women having an equal vote has always been near and dear to my heart,” Julie says. “My baby is ten years old now, and I wanted to get more involved. I attended the New Member Orientation. I wondered whether there would still be people I knew in the organization, and it turns out there are quite a few.”
As the clock winds down for the 2018 membership drive, be sure to touch base with Julie Faulkner on how you can get involved before the May 15th deadline.
“There are still so many people in our community who would be thrilled to hear about what we do. Be bold about sharing our message with friends and family.” — Julie Faulkner
